Anne Marie Cummins — Australian Artist, Sydney

I have been creative since I was a child — it has never been a choice, more a compulsion. Art pours out of me in one form or another, whatever the medium, whatever the season of life.

I paint the Australian landscape as psychological space — the places where land meets water, where a woman's form dissolves into country, where colour carries what words can't.

My background is in visual communication and creative direction, and that eye for composition, narrative and space lives in every painting I make. I also design interiors — and it was through that work I realised the transformative power of placing the right original artwork in a considered space. Many of the homes I design now feature my own work, and the two practices have become inseparable.

Before I picked up a brush full-time, I spent years shaping how things looked and felt for others. Now I do it entirely on my own terms.

My work has been exhibited at Maunsell Wickes Gallery, Paddington, and most recently in Tide & Light — a new body of work opening June 11, 2026 at Ditty Wheels, Willoughby.

I work from my studio in McMahons Point, Sydney. Studio visits are welcome by appointment.

I acknowledge the Cammeraygal people of the Eora Nation, traditional custodians of the land I live and work on, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
