ABOUT THE WORK
A woman rests low in the water, her form barely distinct from the tide that holds her. Above her, a soft midday sun burns pale through a wash of pink and cream sky, while a band of olive and sage green marks the shoreline between land and light.

Noonwater continues my ongoing exploration of the female figure dissolving into the Australian landscape — not as a decorative element, but as something elemental, at rest inside the land itself. Built up in loose, textured layers with visible drips and knife marks, the painting holds both the stillness of midday heat and the quiet motion of water.

Part of an ongoing body of work exploring the figure as landscape — where the boundary between body and place blurs into something softer, older, more elemental.
