ABOUT THE WORK
This painting expresses joie de vivre and feminine power through it's bright, vibrant warm colours and expressive brushstrokes. Donna Summer was my inspiration for this painting, as she embodied, freedom and was part of womens' sexual liberation in the 1970's. I have tried to capture the essence of her dynamic disco songs, her sensual dance movements which can be be seen with the free flowing paint drips, scrapes and the exposed canvas. This expressive style of painting also reflects the unadulterated freedom people felt during the 70's.

The surface is textured and built up with multiple layers of paint, rich in brush strokes, drips and splatters.

The painting is sealed with 3 layers of a semi gloss varnish which protects the canvas from direct sunlight. It is ready to hang.

A bright, striking painting is for lovers of disco and abstract paintings.
